MIRPUR: The presidential election of Azad Jammu Kashmir would be held tomorrow (August 16). The nomination papers of the two candidates-Muhammad Masood Khan, a retired diplomat and Chaudary Latif Akber, a former minister, were accepted n this regard. The stipulated constitutional term of President Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan would end on August 24 this year. The polling to elect the new president would be held on August 16 between 10am to 3pm at the Lodging Hall of the Legislative Assembly in Muzaffarabad, said a schedule announced by the Election Commission. The members of AJK Parliament including the members of Legislative Assembly and Kashmir Council will elect the new president.
