LAHORE: Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) with the collaboration of Microsoft will provide IT training to its 30 thousands trainees annually.
The purpose of training is to increase the employability of youth of Punjab Province by equipping them with various industry and business skills related IT courses. TEVTA signed MoU with Microsoft at TEVTA secretariat. TEVTA Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Sheikh and Microsoft Country Enterprise Director AbidZaidi signed MoU. TEVTA Officers Akhtar Abbas Bharwana, Hamid GhaniAnjum, Amir Aziz, UmerFarooq, NaeemAslam and others attended.
Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said that Microsoft and TEVTA would work together to carry out an assessment of the student market in the Punjab to understand the need and scope of skills in particular pertaining to business administration and management in order to initiate the potential for the development and delivery of appropriate training and education. In addition to their regular training programme, they will also appear in Microsoft examination. After passing the examination, they will also be called Microsoft Specialist.
TEVTA chairperson said that with the assistance of Microsoft, curricula will be designed meeting the local market needs so that youth may be trained as per requirement of industry. The integrity of all programmes will be assessed and validated through Microsoft Office Specialist Examination to ensure a common standard in experience and outcome. Partnership of TEVTA with Microsoft would successfully take place in line with the policy guidelines of Punjab chief minister to give I.T. training to the youth of the province of the Punjab.
